  1. Whoa!!!! That's awesome mileage! Where did the inspiration for the name come from?

  2. Nice! Sylvie's mileage has dropped. Maybe I'll show her the picture to inspire her until I can take her to the garage :-)

    Did you doctor her?

  3. Did you name her after my car??? Dinah and I feel honored and justified in our dedication to good gas mileage... or perhaps you did not remember the name of the pregnant rollerskate :)

  4. Dinah is a 1991 Honda CRX HF (High Fuel-efficiency), and is almost completely stock. The inspiration for her name came from CRX, shortened to C-Rex; smaller cousin, of course, to the famous Tyrannosaurus.

I wasn't consciously emulating you, Emily, but there may have been some subconscious connections :)

She's in the process of being doctored, as I just found out that her radiator is cracked.

  5. Nice! That would make traveling much more fun when 100 miles is only 2 gallons of gas! :)

  6. It sure does! I can go almost as far on an 8 gallon tank as I could before on 15 gallons. I'm also trying to learn more about hypermiling, which should help as well :)

  7. Can't wait to meet her! However, you'll have to upgrade when you have a family - there's only enough room for a wife in there!

  8. While I expect that to be a while, there is a solution that doesn't require upgrading to a new car :)

  9. Nice ride, Joel :)

  10. I'd say this relationship is going somewhere:)
It's ironic that this relatively old car gets better milage than most of the new "high milage" cars.

  11. :) Well, to be fair, new cars have many more features. I just have different priorities.

  12. What happens when you have a passenger? I think Christy is right, this is really to enforce bachelorhood while in grad school. "Sorry, I can't take you anywhere, you're hurting my gas mileage."

  13. Oh Dorinda, you have no idea how hard I just laughed!

Maybe if I find the right woman I can trade her for my spare tire ;)

  14. Lol, many men would like to trade in their spare tire. (all puns intended)

  15. Well, at least I'm not trying to trade for a spare tire
